Vineyard
The exceptional quality of our 2022 Sonoma County Cabernet Franc begins in the vineyards. We crafted this wine from two distinct 1/3-acre plots we manage, each contributing unique characteristics to the final blend. The Alexander Valley vineyard, renowned for its rich, well-drained soils and warm climate, imparts deep, concentrated flavors and a robust structure. Meanwhile, with its cooler temperatures and diverse terroir, the Kenwood vineyard adds a vibrant acidity and complex aromatic profile. Together, these vineyards create a harmonious balance, showcasing the varied and rich terroirs of Sonoma County.
How it's made
The art of crafting our 2022 Sonoma County Cabernet Franc begins with the careful selection of the finest grapes from our Alexander Valley and Kenwood vineyards. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 25% new oak used to enhance its complexity. This traditional aging process imparts subtle oak nuances, adding layers of depth to the dark cherry, bell pepper, and black pepper notes. The result is a medium-bodied wine with well-integrated tannins and a refined, elegant finish, a testament to the finesse of traditional French winemaking techniques.
