Pinot Noir 2023
Tastes like
Farmed from the same vineyard site as our Reserve Pinot Noir, this wine is farmed from the lower section of the hill and is harvested a bit earlier, lending it its own unique character. Instead of the typical cherry-forward profile, it exhibits dark currant or cranberry tones with subtle notes of clove or Christmas spice.
Pairs well with..
The most euphoric experiences we have had with this wine have been while enjoying one of these fabulous pairings:
- Mushroom Pizza
- Duck Ragu
- Gamey Fish (Salmon, Swordfish, Trout)
- If you want any more food recommendations or recipes that go well with the Pinot Noir, give us a call. We would love to share this information with you!
Vineyard
- Just across from the Forestville Rock Quarry, this vineyard lies within the Green Valley sub-AVA—one of the coolest, most coastal corners of the Russian River Valley. The gentle elevation lets coastal fog settle along the lower blocks, slowing ripening and allowing flavors and sugars to develop in perfect sync. We farm both Swan and Jackson clones of Pinot Noir here, with this wine highlighting the Swan clone’s elegant red fruit and silky texture. It’s our furthest west vineyard site, and it shows in the wine’s bright, refined character.
How it's made
- Our Pinot Noir is made with 15% new French oak. This one is aged 18 months. Only 6 barrels were produced. We also perform a 20% partial whole cluster to help reduce the acidity in this Pinot Noir. 200 Cases Produced
